Mike Caputo first gained attention as the guitarist for the progressive rock band Mind Sky. Their debut release “Timewise” was very well received by the public and Mike was featured in Guitar Player magazine. Described as “the quintessential progressive guitarist, demonstrating a command of textural elements, acoustic guitar technique, and a melodic lead style utilizing impressive legato phrasing ”, Mike quickly emerged as a versatile artist whose style appealed to a wide audience.

“Mosaic” is Mike’s first solo release featuring all acoustic material. His acoustic style has been compared to Michael Hedges and Alex DeGrassi. Fernando Sor ’s “Fantasy” is the only non-original work on the album.

Having studied classical guitar for many years, Mike fuses this formal training with his own compositional style to create works that are both melodically pleasing, yet technically challenging. Fans of fingerstyle and classical guitar will be thoroughly impressed with the depth of the playing and compositional skills.

As a member of the metal band STEEL KINGDOM, Mike continues to refine his style, successfully bridging proficiency with emotion as the band prepares for their CD debut on Prism Break Records.
